    TF999 stuck in 1st!

After a day of mudding, on my way down the mountain, my TF999 will not shift out of 1st. Park, reverse, nut, and L seems to work fine. When the lever is in 2 or D it just stays in 1st gear.

Now I was in a lot of water. Does not look like any is in the ATF fluid. Yes I checked the fluid. Not super red, and not black, or inundated with any metal flake.

Could this just be a sensor? What should my first step be? Change the fluid? Drop the pan and change the filter?

Thanks for your help. Has anyone else had this problem?

Check your Throttle Valve linkage, if it is out of adjustment it can cause problems shifting and will eventually destroy your transmission. Ask me how i know this..

I had the same problem after taking on water and the band meterial released from the band and caused the same problem you have. The only option I had was to do a complete rebuild.(clutches and bands)
