4.5" RE YJ kit onto my CJ

Hey guys, someone in my club took off the almost new 4.5" RE kit off his YJ and put on a 3-link system up front and 5" springs in the rear. Anyway...

He's offering me a huge portion of most of an RE kit at a very good price. I talked to RE and they said putting the YJ kit on the CJ is do-able.. you need the step-out shackles for the front (which they make) to go to the 2.5" width springs.

My question is about the rear springs. I guess the spring lengths are very close.. the only real difference is the center pin is not in the same place. What can be done to correct for this?

    Here's what he's offering me..

    front springs w/bushings
    front shocks (re monotube)
    front shackles
    front stainless brake lines
    front spring ubolt plates
front shackle hangers (new from genright)
transfer case drop spacers (if neccesary)
    rear springs w/bushings
    rear spring ubolt plates

Unless the RE springs are different from the factory beside lift the center pin is in the middle of the spring. I think the factory springs are like 1/8" of an inch longer on each end with the center pin centered. Maybe RE adjusted that. How far off is is supposed to be? If it's just a little then it shouldn't be a big deal. If they did adjust it then surely they would have left 1 side the factory length so it doesn't adjust your wheelbase for those who don't want to do any trimming. Ask the guy to measure and see if the pin is offest and if so then how much.

Its no problem at all. The only thing you may run into is the YJ spring hangers you may have to get some from JKS or Currie for the 2/12 inch springs.

RE makes a conversion shackle for the front of the CJ for putting on YJ springs. I have them on my CJ. I also think Beserk has a RE 4.5" YJ lift on his. May want to check and see.
