Wheel Paint
Anyone had any luck with Duplicolor Wheeel paints?
I like the Rustoleum hammered paint because it dries quickly and is pretty durable but they have a limited selction of colors.
I want to paint my steel wheels with something that will hold a finish. Any suggestions?

Powdercoat. Spray paint will most likely scratch right off with as little as a dull fingernail. At least use a single stage urethane if you want to paint them.

I had pretty good luck with Rustoleum hammered finish, it comes in a wide range of colors too. Can't say anything about the durability of Duplicolor for wheels. What color aren't you able to find?

I used krylon satin black, then topped with a few coats of krylon clear ( 3 or 4 most of the can is gone). I done this in the spring to alloy rims that came stock on the liberty and i have been wheeling a few times hitting lots of rocks and the paint still looks good. Alot of prep and very light coats as many light coats as your r willing to do....i might have done 5 or 6 ...used 2 full cans i think.
