Popping noise even after u joint replacement at low speeds

Alright here is my problem. I have a 98 jeep grand Cherokee 4 wheel drive. I am getting a popping noise from front end when letting the idle pull the vehicle no gas pedal. It does it without turning the wheel. I change the u joints this weekend with the same result (although one was definitely bad). I can put it in 4wheel or 2 wheel same result. It seems to stop when I accelerate and doesn't seem to make any humming noise as far as I can tell. This sounds like gears jumping or bearings grinding. I'm thinking it is a hub bearing assemble or both. Although it is not evident at normal speeds, only running idle in parking lots. Didn't see any damage when I physically inspected them while I change u joints.
"Can bearings be bad but not act like it at higher speed only at low!!??"

I had a weird popping noise on my tj under low speed acceleration, and finally figured out that my rear uca's were loose and my rear lca bushings were ripped. The noise sounded ike it was in the front but it was actually the rear axle wrapping. So if you can't figure it out from what you replaced look the jeep over and make sure everything is tight.
