    7.3l power stroke diesel in a CJ8

Ive been wanting to do this build for a while and ive come to the conclusion the best diesel for me to go with is hte 7.3 (the 6.0 is just too damn expensive and too many parts to break when im hammering on it in my opinion). Now this raises some obvious problems like the weight of the engine being around 1000lbs and the motor thats in my jeep right now is a amc 304 thats sitting around half that.

I just want to know has anyone attempted this before and if so what are my major set backs?

If everything could work i basically want to jut buy a 1995-1999 ford with a 7.3 powerstroke and swap rears, tranny (5 speed), motor and eveything. Anyone have any input on this?

Also knowing diesel isn't the problem i know it better then i know gas (trade of choice)

Downfall would be weight and of course noise. That engine and tranny probably weighs as much as the rest of the Jeep.

the rear drive shaft wont be that short the cj8 has the 101" wheel base. As to noise as far as im concerned i love the noise, this machine isn't going to be a daily driver so thats not a problem haha
