    Posi-Lok Failing - Need suggestions

I have the posi-lok in my jeep, and when it snowed this past weekend, my 4wd wasn't working. I removed the cover and the fork on the posi-lok wasn't moving the sleeve enough to engage the two axles. So I moved it with my hand, adjusted the posi-lok in line, and buttoned the whole thing back together. I figured that if I didn't touch that damn red button, it shouldn't move. Well I was wrong and it wasn't engaging AGAIN. I'd put a damn tack weld on the sleeve if it wasn't coated with gear oil. Any ideas on why my posi-lok is failing? Any ideas on how to get my 4wd working again?

Some background information: My posi-lok was working fine last season and when I try to adjust the cable it just moves it (no adjustment anymore)

The inventor of this split axle shaft should be shot...

Yea it's probably just adjustment I have to take mine and pull the knob out and turn it all the way to the left and then it will engage. Try that just when you turn it to the left, go till it starts to feel tight

I took the posi-lok out. Put the vac actuator back in but first I slid the fork over and E clipped it into place. Now the axles are always connected

If people run a solid TJ shaft with good results I don't see why locking the two axle shafts should be a problem, though I'd expect fuel mileage to suffer.

If I recall correctly, you have to be careful to not tighten the barrel of the cable too far into the posi-lock housing.

When you took the housing off, the cable was moving the fork yes? Was the cable locking properly? There's not a whole lot that can be wrong...if the collar will move easily between the axle shafts, and the cable is moving the fork...I would think it must be an adjustment issue. What does your 4x4 light do?
