    Loud ticking

Whenever I first start my car after sitting for a few hours and even all night there is a loud ticking coming from the front and I know it's not the belt and after driving the ticking goes away. If anyone has any ideas please let me know.

You should let your engine build oil pressure before driving, the ticking is lifters running dry, driving while lifters are running dry is adding wear that could be avoided.

Next oil change add 1 qt of Lucas oil stablizer instead of a regular qt of oil. It comes in both synthetic and conventional. It will help stop that from happening.

Are you sure this isn't another Evap tick? Have you pin pointed where the ticking is coming from? Next time check the little grayish plastic piece located in front of your brake fluid resevoir.

Pop the hood, start her up and place a screw driver on the top of the engine (valve cover meet block area) and place that aginst your brain case, you should hear it clear as day. If so its lifters, even with lucas you should let your engine warm up for a few minutes and build oil pressure before running down the road, even just a mile. I wouldn't add more than 1cup of lucas to an oil change if your engine doesn't sound like a diesel truck.
